Sifu Ken

Ken has been studying Taijiquan and Qigong for over 19 years.

He has studied Yang, Pai Young and Wu Chun styles of Taijiquan, along with Five Form Fist Kung Fu and Philippine Kali Escrima, under Laoshi David Everett, founder of the White Lotus Integrated Martial Arts Association (an affiliate of the Kuoshu Federation – Taiwan).  Ken became a Sifu (full instructor) of Taijiquan in October of 2003 and trains regularly with Master Everett.

Ken also trains with 20th generation lineage holder Wang Haijun in Chen Laojia Taijiquan (the oldest historical style of Taiji).  He meets with Master Wang twice a year when he comes to America.

Ken also trains regularly with one of Master Wang's students, acupuncturist Stan Baker to hone his skills between Master Wang's visits.

Ken teaches Taijiquan and Qigong at many locations throughout the Hartford area and his students range from athletes to senior citizens.  He is certified to teach Tai Chi for Arthritis by the Arthritis Foundation of America and Tai Chi for Osteoporosis and Fall Prevention by Dr. Paul Lam of Australia. He has just recently been certified by Dr. Fuzhong Li and the Oregon Research Institute to teach their evidence-based Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance program.
